COVID-19 affected us in so many ways. Action Racket Theatre was not exempt from the stress a global pandemic imposed on our lives. Somehow we're beginning to see a vista opening up—and we are so ready to come out into the sunlight once again.
Over the past two years, our in-person workshops and performances were halted due to safety protocols and closures affecting schools, daycares, Centers for Nursing and Rehabilitation and Adult Day Health Care centers. However, we have been busy.
Last spring, Lois and Joanie were published in Maintenant 15—the annual Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art. The issue's theme was "Humanity—the Reboot." How much more apt could the theme be! We also participated in ZOOM readings for the book's release. All editions of Maintenant are available online and in-store through Barnes & Noble, Amazon and on Three Rooms Press's website.
Joanie's poem, "I Am Also Waiting" was published in the recently-released Light on the Walls of Life, an anthology dedicated to Lawrence Ferlinghetti (Jambu Press), as well as several Silver Birch Press's online themed series. She also founded the Pandemic Poetry ZOOM workshop in October 2020, which continues to go strong.
